Size Tweening Practice worksheet I

 

The following exercises are designed to help reinforce the concept of keyframes and the way in which are used to create motion tweens. Recreate the motion tweens by following the instruction below. Then save the .fla file and the .swf file to your portfolio folder.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


Exercise I Basic Size Tweening of a shape Vertical scale

 

Step I

Draw a circle and fill it with a radial gradient color fill from white to yellow.

 

Step II

Convert the shape to a graphic symbol named "ball". Copy this Graphic.

 

Step III

Create keyframes in frames 12 and 24 then paste the graphic "ball" into these frames.

 

Step IV

Select the graphic "ball" in keyframe 12 and Transform the shape so that it doubles in height.

 

Step V

Right click a frame between frame 1 and 12 and select "create motion tween"

Step VI

Right click a frame between frame 12 and 24 and select "create motion tween"

 

Exercise II Basic Size Tweening of a shape Horizontal scale

 

Step I

Draw a circle and fill it with a radial gradient color fill from white to green.

 

Step II

Convert the shape to a graphic symbol named "ball". Copy this Graphic.

 

Step III

Create keyframes in frames 12 and 24 then paste the graphic "ball" into these frames.

 

Step IV

Select the graphic "ball" in keyframe 12 and Transform the shape so that it doubles in width.

 

Step V

Right click a frame between frame 1 and 12 and select "create motion tween"

Step VI

Right click a frame between frame 12 and 24 and select "create motion tween"

 

 

Exercise III Basic Size Tweening of a shape vertical and horizontal scale

 

Step I

Draw a circle and fill it with a radial gradient color fill from white to red.

 

Step II

Convert the shape to a graphic symbol named "ball". Copy this Graphic.

 

Step III

Create keyframes in frames 12 and 24 then paste the graphic "ball" into these frames.

 

Step IV

Select the graphic "ball" in keyframe 12 and Transform the shape so that it doubles in size.

 

Step V

Right click a frame between frame 1 and 12 and select "create motion tween"

Step VI

Right click a frame between frame 12 and 24 and select "create motion tween"

 

Exercise IV Basic Size Tweening of a bitmap image vertical and horizontal scale

 

Step I

Import this image to the stage.

 

Step II

Convert the bitmap image to a graphic symbol named "bitmap". Copy this graphic.

 

Step III

Create keyframes in frames 12 and 24 then paste the graphic "bitmap" into these frames.

 

Step IV

Select the graphic "bitmap" in keyframe 12 and Transform the shape so that it doubles in size.

 

Step V

Right click a frame between frame 1 and 12 and select "create motion tween"

Step VI

Right click a frame between frame 12 and 24 and select "create motion tween"

 

Note: Once the images have been converted to "Graphic" symbols The bitmap and vector images are treated in the same way in the flash animation.
