Shape Tweening Practice worksheet I  

 

The following exercises are designed to help reinforce the concept of keyframes and the way in which are used to create motion tweens. Recreate the motion tweens by following the instruction below. Then save the .fla file and the .swf file to your portfolio folder.

Exercise I Basic Shape tween.

 

Step I

In the first frame draw a circle, then align it to the center of the stage.

Step II

Create a blank keyframe in frame 24

Step III

Draw a square in frame 24 and align to the center of the stage.

Step IV

Click on the first frame then go to the "Properties" panel and select "Shape" from the "Tween" drop down menu.

This procedure ensures that the shapes are not converted to symbols or movie clips.

 

 

Exercise II Basic Text Tweening

 

Step I

In the first frame use the text tool to write the letter "A". Align the letter to the center of the stage.

 

Step II

Create a blank keyframe in frame 12 then using the text tool type the letter "B". Align the letter to the center of the stage.

 

Step III

Copy key frame 1 into keyframe 23.

 

Step IV

Select keyframe 1 then in the main menu bar go to Modify > Break Apart. Repeat this for keyframe 12 and 23.
   
This procedure converts symbols back into shapes.
