Basic Position Tweening Practice Worksheet I
The following exercises are designed to help reinforce the concept of keyframes and the way in which are used to create motion tweens. Recreate the motion tweens by following the instruction below. Then save the .fla file and the .swf file to your portfolio folder.

Exercise I
Horizontal Position Tween.
Download this .fla
Step I In frame one draw a circle, set the color fill to red. Then position it in the far left of the stage.
 
   
Step II Go to frame 24 and insert a blank keyframe.
   
Step III Copy the contents of frame1 into frame 24.
   
Step IV Highlight the contents of frame 24 and reposition it to the far right of the stage.
 
   
Step V Highlight keyframe 24 then drag to select all the frames to and including keyframe 1. Right click on the selected area the choose "Create Motion Tween". Press Ctrl + Enter to preview the animation.
 
Exercise II Diagonal Position Tween.

  • Save the file "horizontal motion tween" as "diagonal motion tween"
  • Open the file select the keyframe in frame 24 then reposition the circle in the top right of the stage.
  • Drag the play head over the animation.

Method I (Interrupt)
  • Select frame 12.
  • Right click then choose "Convert to Keyframes"
  • Reposition the circle in frame 12.
Method II (Add on)
  • Select keyframe 24, right click and choose "copy frames" select frame 36
  • then right click and choose "paste frames"
  • Reposition the circle in frame 24.

Note:
In each case Flash automatically converts the drawn object or the image into a graphic symbol in order to create the tween.
