Creating An Animated Button I (onOver)

 

How to create a simple animated button on mouse over:

  • In the main menu go to Insert > New Symbol.
  • Then in the "Insert New Symbol" window:
    • Set the the type to "Button".
    • Set the name of the symbol to "anim_btn".
    • Press the "OK" button.
  • In the "anim_btn" button timeline:
    • In the "UP" frame of the button.
    • Drag the graphic symbol "symbol1" form the library.
    • Right click on the "Over" frame and select "insert Blank Keyframe" from the drop down menu.
    • Drag the movie clip "ripple_mc" from the library.
    • Right click on the "Down" frame and select "insert Blank Keyframe" from the drop down menu.
    • Drag the graphic symbol "symbol3" form the library.
    • In the button timeline click on "Scene 1" to go back to the main timeline.
  • In the main menu go to Control > Test Movie.
