The TAN() Function Knowledgebase Trig Index Page 

 

The sine function in Excel is written "TAN". The function accepts one argument in the form of radians and returns a value between negative infinity and infinity.

 

 

How to use the TAN() function:

  • Type " =TAN( "
  • Enter the coordinate of the data cell "A3"
  • Type")" then press the "Enter" key. 
 

Note:  180 deg = p rads
